Biography
Born in the town of Saryozek aulsovet Yerkinkala . He grew up in a large shepherd family, in which, in addition to him, there were also brother Ayazbay and sisters Nasikha and Ayman. In 1930, his father became the shepherd of the first state farm organized in these places.
After graduating from the 7th grade of the school, Unaybay became a laborer at the state farm at the age of 15, and when in 1942 his father went to the front, he himself became a shepherd .
In February 1943, Unaibai Kushekov was drafted into the Red Army , graduated from the military infantry school in Blagoveshchensk (Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic), then the school of junior lieutenants. In the direction of the General Staff of the border troops of the USSR, he served in Georgia - at one of the outposts of the Akhaltsykh border detachment of the state border of the USSR, first as a deputy, and then as a chief. In 1948, declared unfit for military service due to a serious illness and was discharged.
After the war, he worked as deputy chairman of the regional committee of the voluntary army assistance society ( DOSARM ), then in the apparatus of the Guryev city committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, representative of the USSR Ministry of Procurement in Guryev.
In 1958 he was sent to the Alma-Ata Higher Party School, after graduation he worked in the apparatus of the West Kazakhstan Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. Then he worked as the head of the agricultural department of the Guryev Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan. In January 1968, he was elected first secretary of the Mangyshlak District Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.
From 1970 to 1977 - Chairman of the Guryev Oblast Executive Committee.
In 1977 he became the first secretary of the Guryev Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan . During his tenure in 1979, the discovery of a large Tengiz oil field took place. In the future, Kushekov made a great contribution to the development of the oil industry in Western Kazakhstan. Attention was paid to the problem of providing people with housing; About 180-220 thousand square meters were rented out annually in the region living space. In the city, the Mobil house-building plant with a capacity of 80 thousand sq.m. housing per year. Many objects of public education and health were built. A maternity hospital and a hospital were commissioned in Guryev, and regional hospitals in Miyaly, Ganyushkino and Balykshi. New settlements appeared on the map of the region, the Ak Zhaiyk production cooperative for the production of high-quality grass seeds, the Aktogay complexes for fodder harvesting, the Zhalgansaysky potato plant, the state farm named after the 21st Party Congress and the Koptogai milk farm were created and vegetables. In the city was built a greenhouse "Bereke". As a result, from year to year the number of meat and milk, wool, astrakhan, melons and vegetables handed over to the state increased. Within two years, the Atyrau-Ganyushkino road was built. Then the construction of the roads of Atyrau-Makat-Kulsary, then Inder-Sagiz-Miyaly was started. The sections of the Ganyushkino, Makat, Guryev and Kulsary railroads were reconstructed, the Makat-Inder railway was built.
Since 1985 - retired, personal pensioner of national importance.
He died on September 8, 2013.
