Crater Baade ( lat. Baade ) - impact crater , located on the south-western limb of the visible side of the moon . The name is given in honor of the German astronomer and astrophysicist Walter Baade (1893-1960) and was approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1964. The formation of the crater belongs to the Late Imbrian period [1] .

Crater Description
The crater is located in the southwest of the giant basin of the Eastern Sea , a little southeast of the junction of the Bouvard valley and the Baade valley . The nearest neighbor of the crater is the Ingira crater in the east-southeast [2] . The selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are , diameter - 58 km [3] , depth - 5.2 km [4] .
The shaft of the crater is almost regular circular shape, has a sharp edge, almost not destroyed. The height of the shaft above the surrounding terrain is 1170 m [1] , the volume of the crater is approximately 2500 km ³ [1] . The inner slope of the shaft is slightly terraced. The bottom of the crater bowl is uneven, cup-shaped with the absence of a flat part. There is no central peak.
Before obtaining its own name in 1964, the crater had the designation Ingirami D (in the designation system of the so-called satellite craters located in the vicinity of the crater, which has its own name).
