Biography
Mikhail Vasilievich Korolev was born on December 3 (16), 1903 in the village of Vazhiny ( Podporozhsky district of the Leningrad region ).
He began military service in 1923 as a Red Navy 1st Baltic Fleet crew.
After graduating from the Baltic Fleet’s electromotive school in 1925, he served as a miner in the mine explosives “Narva” and “October 25”.
In May 1926 he was seconded to preparatory courses at the Naval Academy. M. V. Frunze , after which in October 1926 he was admitted to the Naval Engineering School named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky .
After graduating from college, from April to August 1931 he served as a junior mechanic on the battleship “ October Revolution ”, and then until 1934 - the commander of the machine group battleship “ Marat ”.
In 1934-1935 he studied at advanced training courses for electrical and mechanical engineers at the Dzerzhinsky VVMIU, after which he was appointed commander of the electromechanical group, and in 1936 - commander of the battleship movement division "Marat". In 1937 he was appointed commander of the electromechanical sector of the battleship “October Revolution” of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet.
In September 1938 he was transferred to the Black Sea Fleet as commander of the BCh-5 battleship “ Paris Commune ”. In this position he entered the Great Patriotic War. Participated in all operations and campaigns of the battleship.
In December 1943 he was appointed the flagship mechanical engineer of the Black Sea Fleet, and served in this position until 1952.
May 24, 1945 M.V. Korolev was awarded the title of engineer-rear-admiral.
In April 1952 he was appointed the first head of the 3rd Higher Naval Engineering School .
In March 1954 he was seconded to the General Staff of the Navy and in December of that year he was appointed military adviser to the Polish People’s Republic .
In August 1955, due to illness, Rear-Admiral Engineer M.V. Korolev was dismissed from the Navy.
He died on September 30, 1968 in Leningrad , was buried in the Sestroretsky cemetery .
