History
The city of Anzio until the VI century, the city of Anzio was the center of the eponymous diocese. The names of several bishops of the Diocese of Anzio are known. Bishop Gaudentius participated in 465 in the Roman Cathedral. His successor Felicius in 478 participated in the III Roman Cathedral. Bishop Vindemiy participated in the IV (499 year) and V (501 year) Roman Councils, convened by the Pope Symmachus .
In the VI century, the diocese of Anzio ceased to exist after the invasion of the city of Saracens .
Since 1969, the Diocese of Anzio has been the titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.
