Anatoly Leopoldovich Jacobson (1906, Luga, St. Petersburg Province - 1984, Leningrad) - Soviet archaeologist , historian of art and architecture . Doctor of Historical Sciences (1961). Employee of the Institute of Archeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

Since 1930, he worked in Leningrad, at the State Academy of the History of Material Culture (GAIMK), which in 1937 entered the USSR Academy of Sciences as the Institute of the History of Material Culture named after N. Ya. Marr (IIMK). In 1943, the Institute was transferred to Moscow, and in Leningrad its Branch (LOIIMK) remained.
In 1957, the IIMK was renamed the Institute of Archeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences (in Leningrad, respectively, LOIA Academy of Sciences of the USSR).
Research interests: Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages, Northern Black Sea Region and Transcaucasia . He conducted large-scale excavations in the Crimea ( Tauric Chersonesos , etc.).
He is the author of more than 60 scientific works, including “Essays on the History of Architecture of Armenia of the V — XVII Centuries” (1950).
