History
The village was founded in 1884 by immigrants from Ukraine , on the land of the Kabardian prince Ismail Atazhukin. The reason for their resettlement was a large crop failure and raging famine in Ukraine.
The first settlers settled in areas rented from the princes Atazhukin. The area attracted immigrants with its fertility and abundance of springs. On both sides of the Zolka River were dense thickets of forest and shrubs. A few years later, immigrants gradually began to acquire leased land ownership.
After the foundation of the settlement, the new settlement was given the name - the farm of the Atazhukinsky Partnership .
During the Civil War, the farm was defeated and burned by the White Guards, as a result of which a large part of the population fled deep into Kabarda or the nearest villages of Stavropol.
In 1925, the farm was given the status of a village and renamed the village of Zolskoye. And more and more Kabardian families began to move to the village from nearby villages.
In 1930, two collective farms were created - the Lighthouse, which was headed by Udovichenko Mikhail Sviridovich, and the Red Partisan, which was headed by Nakhushev Ismel Tutovich.
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was captured by the Germans for several months. Many villagers heroically fought for every inch of their native land and laid down their heads in the defense of the village, and many villagers gave their lives on the war fronts. These are the following comrades: Afaunov B. Kh., Balaban P.E., Dikinov I.M., Doroshenko N.A., Efremenko P.K., Emkuzhev Kh. B., Zhigatov M. Sh., Makhataev A.A. , Marzhokhov M.A., Yagodzinsky I.A., Palenny I.I., Shipilov T.T., Stepanenko I.I., Tokarenko N.I., Tlenkapachev B.M., Yakushkin P.P., Tlenkopachev K. M. Women worked on the labor front: Zhigatova Sh., Mamsirova L., Mambetova K., Shurdumova M., Kupova K., Kupova Kuna, Elcheparova M., Nakhusheva M. and many others. In January 1943, the settlement was liberated from the invaders. Monuments were erected in memory of those who died during the liberation of the village and villagers who died at the fronts in the village.
Until 1937, Zolskoye was part of the Nagorny district of the republic. Then it was transferred to the newly formed Malkinsky district , based on part of the territory of the Nagorny district.
In 1938, the Malkinsky district was transformed into Zolsky, and its administrative center was moved to the village of Zolsky .
From 1938 to 1948, the village was the district center of the Zolsky district .
Since 1955 there are regular bus routes to Nalchik and Pyatigorsk (through the regional center of Zalukokoazhe ). In 1958, the village was electrified; in 1966, water supply was carried out.
