Biography
Until the age of 14, Robert Karlovich was brought up in a private boarding school in Courland , from which he transferred first to the Ryazan gymnasium, then to Tambov. After graduating there , he enrolled in the course of 1860 in the number of students of Moscow University .
Due to lack of funds, I had to interrupt my lessons. From 1864 to 1865 he was a teacher in the feldsher school at the Catherine Hospital Clinic.
In the spring of 1866 he moved to the St. Petersburg Imperial Medical and Surgical Academy . Here, in addition to lessons, he was engaged in translations for the zoological department in the veterinary newspaper published by Ludwig Filippovich Busse .
After graduating from the academy in 1868, he married and went to Siberia for the gold mining of the Yenisei province and took a vacant place as a field doctor. Receiving a large salary, he was able to write medical books, magazines and tools.
After serving an obligatory three-year term, Robert Karlovich wanted to move to Krasnoyarsk and on September 16, 1871 was appointed city doctor.
In May 1873, at the suggestion of the Governor, he was appointed senior doctor of the city hospital of the Order of Public Charity.
In November 1888, he took the post of doctor at the Krasnoyarsk girls' gymnasium .
Robert Karlovich was a member of many charitable and other societies.
In 1886, he became one of the founders of the Society of Physicians of the Yenisei Province and an active participant in it. Conducted a free reception for poor citizens.
He was one of the researchers of the natural properties of Lake Shira as part of scientific expeditions.
On June 9, 1905, at 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon, he died of heart failure. Robert Karlovich buried almost the whole city. The whole road along the mountainside to the cemetery was strewn with flowers.
He was buried at the Trinity Cemetery .

Robert Karlovich was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav III degree.
