Patriarch Antony III the Student ( Greek Πατριάρχης Αντώνιος Γ΄ ο Στουδίτης ; died in 983 ) - Patriarch of Constantinople from March 974 to June 978 or April 979.

Biography
Even as a teenager, Anthony became a monk at the Studios Monastery , and in 916 he was elected abbot of this monastery.
In 963, already in the rank of syncella , Anthony, on the orders of Nicephorus II, transferred Feofano from the imperial palace to the palace in Vlaherna .
In 970, after the death of Patriarch Polievkt , Anthony expected to take the patriarchal throne, but Vasily I Skamandrin became the patriarch. However, in 974, Anthony succeeded Vasily exiled by the emperor John I at the patriarchal chair of Constantinople.
According to various sources, in June 978 or April 979, after being accused of supporting the uprising of Varda Sklir , Anthony III Studit abdicated the patriarchal throne and retired to the Studios Monastery. His successor was Nicholas II Chryserg .
Anthony died in Constantinople in 983. Throughout his long life, he defended the independence of the church from the state and was known as a church speaker.
