Biography
Born on December 7, 1939 in Novgorod.
In 1962 he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Marine Engineering School named after Admiral S.O. Makarov (LVIMU).
In 1962-1965 he worked as a weather forecaster in a weather bureau on Dixon Island .
In 1968-1973, he was a junior researcher at the Applied Climatology Department of the A. I. Voeikov Main Geophysical Observatory. There he graduated from graduate school. Since 1970 - candidate of geographical sciences.
Since 1973 - associate professor, and since 1987, after defending his doctoral dissertation - professor of the Department of Meteorology of Leningrad State University of International Relations (nowadays - Admiral S.O. Makarov State Maritime Academy).
Developed methods for calculating ice loads on structures. Mapped the plain part of the USSR according to the regime parameters of icing
Published over 30 scientific papers.
