Khilkov, Fedor Andreevich

Prince Fyodor Andreevich Khilkov Young (d. 1657 (possibly in 1654 ), Moscow ) - a steward , a boyar and a voivode from the Khilkov family, the son of a steward of Prince Andrei Ivanovich Khilkov.

Biography

Prince Fedor Andreyevich Khilkov began his service in 1598, when he participated in the Serpukhov campaign of Tsar Boris Fedorovich Godunov against the Crimean Tatars . He held various court posts, in 1626 he was granted the royal capital .

In 1645, the stolnik prince Fedor Andreevich Khilkov was appointed the first governor in Belgorod . The Belgorod governor led the defense of the southern Russian borders from the raids of the Crimean Tatars and Nogai, all the governors of the remaining Ukrainian cities obeyed him.

In 1646, the Belgorod governor, Prince Fyodor Andreevich Khilkov, collecting border troops, moved to Rylsky district , where in the battle near Gorodensky he defeated the Crimean Tatar army, which was expelled from the South Russian possessions.

In 1649, he was appointed to the Voivodeship in Veliky Novgorod , but could not cope with the rebellious townspeople who removed him from running the city. In 1650, by royal decree, he was recalled from Novgorod to Moscow. In 1652, Prince Fyodor Andreevich Khilkov was sent to Putivl , from where he negotiated with the Zaporizhzhya hetman Bogdan Mikhailovich Khmelnitsky on Ukraine's accession to the Russian state .

In 1654, by royal decree, Prince Fyodor Andreyevich Khilkov was called from Putivl to Moscow, where he presented a report on his administration. During the absence of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, he was left to “know Moscow”. In 1654 it was reported that the prince was dying in Moscow during the plague epidemic [1] , but the Russian Biographical Dictionary reports that he died from the plague in Moscow in 1657. Children: Semyon, Peter, Ivan and Yuri Khilkov.
