Julia Aleksandrovna Reider ( 1870 , Kharkov - May 20, 1941 , Odessa [1] ) - Russian and Soviet opera singer (lyric-dramatic soprano), vocal teacher.

Biography
She studied in Kharkov with Selina Motte ( 1887 - 1890 ), then improved in St. Petersburg under the leadership of Daria Leonova and in Italy with Sebastiano Ronconi and Martin Petz . In 1891 she made her debut at the Bolshoi Theater in the party of Gorislava ( “Ruslan and Lyudmila” ). Then she sang on the opera stages of Irkutsk and Yekaterinburg , as a concert singer spent two seasons in Vyatka ( 1900 - 1902 ), then for several years she taught vocals in Mogilev , including at Yerikhailov’s school [2] . With the founding of the Odessa Conservatory, she headed the vocal department. Among the students of Raider are Arnold Azrikan , Maria Bem , Olga Blagovidova , Mikhail Grishko , Joseph Lokhvitsky-Lanskoy , Sergey Migai , Vladimir Shakhrai .
As A. M. Pruzhansky noted in the dictionary “Russian Singers, 1750-1917”, Raider “possessed a flexible, sonorous, even voice of a wide range, owned a brilliant vocal school” [1] .
