Biography

Nikolai Gubin was born on August 6, 1914 in the village of Novosidorikha (now the Shatursky District of the Moscow Region ) into a peasant family. He graduated from seven classes of the school, worked as a coach, on the Shatursky narrow gauge railway. In 1940 he moved to the city of Krasnodon, Voroshilovgrad (now Lugansk ) region, where he worked as an artist. In September 1941, Gubin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army and sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War. He took part in the battles on the South , South-West , 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts. He was wounded four times in battles. He participated in the Rostov operation in 1941 , the battles in the Donbass in 1942 , the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR , the battle for the Dnieper , Nikopol-Krivorozh , Bereznegovato-Snigirevskaya , Odessa , Iasi-Kishinev operations, the liberation of Romania , Hungary , Czechoslovakia . By November 1944, the Red Armyman Nikolai Gubin was a shooter of the 610th Infantry Regiment of the 203rd Infantry Division of the 53rd Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front. Distinguished himself during the liberation of Hungary [1] .

On the night of November 6-7, 1944, Gubin, as part of a group of scouts, crossed the Tisu in the area of ​​the settlement of Sharud , 12 kilometers south-west of Tisafured . The group knocked out the enemy from the first trench, and then, having ambushed on the road near the city of Tisanan, completely disarmed and captured a company of German soldiers. Having captured a German mortar , the group opened fire on a cluster of enemy military equipment and infantry, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time”, Red Army soldier Nikolai Gubin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin with the number 35201 and a medal The Golden Star, numbered 4767 [1] .

In August 1945, participated in the passage through the Gobi Desert and Big Khingan during the Soviet-Japanese War . After its completion, Gubin was demobilized. He lived in Krasnodon, worked as an artist at an industrial plant, then as a foreman, as a foreman at the Sukhodolskaya-1 mine of the Krasnodonugol plant. He died on October 28, 1988, was buried in Krasnodon [1] .

Honorary Citizen of Shatursky District ( 2003 ). He was also awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the Red Star , as well as a number of medals [1] .
