History
The congregation was founded on June 5, 1847 in Istanbul . The idea of creating a monastic congregation first appeared in 1843 . The foundation of this congregation was initiated by Archbishop Andon Hassunyan , who later became the first cardinal of Armenian descent [2] . In 1900, the Order had about 30 schools throughout the Middle East .
Currently
In the United States , schools are under the patronage of the order in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Boston, and Los Angeles [3] .
