Soviet and Russian bearing marking consists of the symbol and is standardized by GOST 3189-89 “Ball and roller bearings. The system of symbols ".

Legend
The basic bearing symbol consists of seven numbers of the basic symbol (for zero values of these signs, it can be reduced to 2 characters) and an additional symbol, which is located to the left and right of the main symbol. In this case, the additional designation located to the left of the main one is always separated by a dash (-), and the additional designation located to the right always begins with a letter. The signs of the main and additional designations are read from right to left.
Scheme 1 of the basic conventional design for bearings with a bore diameter of up to 10 mm, except bearings with bore diameters of 0.6, 1.5 and 2.5 mm, which are denoted by fractions.

Symbols of reference:
- left: bearing category; frictional moment; radial clearance group in accordance with GOST 24810-2013 “Rolling bearings. Internal clearances "; accuracy class.
- right: material details; design changes; tempering temperature; lubricant; vibration level requirements.
Hole Diameter Designation
The sign denoting the diameter of the hole in scheme 1 with a hole diameter of up to 10 mm must be equal to the nominal diameter of the hole, except for bearings with hole diameters of 0.6, 1.5 and 2.5 mm, which are denoted by fraction. If the diameter of the bearing bore is a fractional number, except for the values listed earlier, then it has the diameter of the bore, rounded to a whole number, in this case the numeral 5 should be in second place. Two-row spherical radial bearings with bore diameter up to 9 mm retain the symbol in accordance with GOST 28428-90 “Spherical radial ball bearings double row. Technical conditions.
Two signs denoting the diameter of the hole of the circuit 2 with the diameter of the hole from 10 mm to 500 mm, if the diameter is a multiple of 5, are denoted by dividing the diameter value by 5.
Designation of bearings with a bore diameter of 10, 12, 15 and 17 as 00, 01, 02, 03, respectively. If the diameter of the hole in the range from 10 to 19 mm differs from 10, 12, 15 and 17 mm, then it is assigned the designation of the closest of these diameters, while the third place of the main designation is marked 9. The diameters of the holes 22, 28, 32 and 500 mm are denoted by a fraction (for example, 602/32 (D = 32 mm)). Hole diameters equal to a fractional or integer number, but not a multiple of 5, are indicated by the whole approximate quotient of dividing the diameter value by 5. The basic symbol of such bearings in the third place is the number 9.
On bearings with a bore diameter of 500 mm or more, the inner diameter is designated as the nominal bore diameter.
Dimension Series Designation
Dimensional series of the bearing - a combination of series of diameters and widths (heights), which determines the overall dimensions of the bearing. The following series are installed for bearings (GOST 3478-2012 "Rolling bearings. Connecting dimensions"):
- diameters of 0, 8, 9, 1, 7, 2, 3, 4, 5;
- widths and heights 7, 8, 9, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
The list of series of diameters is listed in order of increasing the size of the outer diameter of the bearing with the same inner diameter. A list of series of widths or heights is given in order of increasing size of width or height.
Series 0 is not indicated in the designation.
Non-standard bearings for internal diameter or width (height) are designated as a series of diameter 6, 7 or 8. In this case, the series of widths (heights) is not affixed.

Needle roller or with long cylindrical rollers | four |
Radial roller with twisted rollers | five |
