Biography

Grigory Gubarkov was born on February 1, 1926 in the village of Kachilovka (now the Ayyrtau district of the Kokchetav region of Kazakhstan ) into a working family. He graduated from seven classes of the school, worked as a driver at the 2nd Jizzakh machine and tractor station of the Uzbek SSR . In November 1943, Gubarkov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since July 1944 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By January 1945, the Red Army guard Grigory Gubarkov was a machine gunner of the motorized rifle battalion of the 34th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 12th Guards Tank Corps of the 2nd Guards Tank Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . Distinguished during the liberation of Poland [1] .

January 21, 1945 Gubarkov one of the first, despite the massive enemy fire, broke into the city of Inowroclaw . During the reflection of the German counterattacks, he was injured, but did not leave the battlefield, continuing to fight [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 27, 1945, the Red Army soldier Grigory Gubarkov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the war, Gubarkov continued his service in the Soviet Army. In 1951 he was demobilized. He returned to Jizzakh, worked on a collective farm , state farm , and later moved to Zaporozhye [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
