Gameplay

The game is a mix of action , hack and slash and third-person shooter genres, where new combinations of punches open as the character develops skills, in this case, to open new techniques and skills, it is necessary to kill a certain number of opponents. As in the comics, Deadpool often breaks the fourth wall and communicates with the player directly during game progress: he often discusses how well the player controls the character, and also tells the player story data.

The gameplay of the battle itself combines a combination of paired melee and ranged weapons, just as Deadpool does in comics. The player is given the opportunity to change the character’s weapons and equipment during the gameplay. Deadpool can use teleportation to cover short distances. The character has the same regenerating factor as Wolverine, and sometimes, in the story, it will fall into pieces when it is seriously damaged [11] .

Story

When Deadpool is rejected by High Moon Studios as the protagonist of the game, he miners the studio, which makes them collaborate. He even hires Nolan North as a voice actor. The script of the game is delivered to him; finding him boring, Deadpool paints it with a pencil.

Following the first lines of the script, Deadpool intends to kill the corrupt media magnate Chance White. Deadpool enters White’s headquarters, kills his guard and throws him out of the window. White is saved by the Marauders, forcing Deadpool to chase them before he finds the first of many glitches throughout the game, the result of inflating the budget. Deadpool is forced to call High Moon several times to force them to complete the game. After the murder of Arclight, Deadpool stumbles upon White and Sinister, who orders Blockbuster to kill him as soon as he reports that the tycoon's companions are under his control. This makes Deadpool angry, he kills Vertigo and knocks out Blockbuster. But Sinister uses his powers to blow up Deadpool's entire body (except his head), leaving him unconscious to regenerate.

Deadpool wakes up and sees the X-Men: Wolverine, Rogue, Psylocke and Domino. Joining them, Deadpool flies to Genosha, the refuge of Sinister; however, he crashes the plane. X-Men remain cold despite Deadpool's comedic attempts to wake Wolverine. Wandering around the Genoches, Deadpool confronts Cable, who came from the future, to ensure that Sinister’s plan is unsuccessful (as he will inadvertently destroy the world). But a bored Deadpool muffles Cable’s speech with a bullet to his head, reviving to find a message from Cable calling him to hurry, or he will miss the “incredibly big-chested” female fan. This motivates Deadpool to regroup with Cable, only to find out that there are no female fans. After Cable explains that the security tower is transmitting a signal that keeps the X-Men unconscious, Deadpool penetrates it and discovers Sinister. Delivered with control, Deadpool makes the tower explode and kill Sinister; however, it was a clone.

Cable convinces Deadpool to help, telling him that his favorite taco restaurant will be destroyed along with the rest of the world if you don't stop Sinister. Having built an aircraft to go to the Magneto Citadel, Deadpool accidentally causes a malfunction and crashes into Rogue, which leads to its capture by the Blockbuster. Deadpool goes to save Rogue from Blockbuster, hoping to seduce her. After a side trip, where he eventually kills another Sinister clone, Deadpool pulls out a Blockbuster and rescues the wounded Rogue, allowing her to absorb his regeneration through kisses. Deadpool's additional personalities are also briefly passed on to Rogue's mind.

Deadpool dies briefly when Mr. Schuggums retrieves the explosives and reunites with his lover, Death. Death tells Deadpool that Sinister has exhumed the bodies of the mutants to get their unique DNA, and needs Deadpool to get suffering souls, unable to move on. Deadpool agrees, comes back to life and, having met Cable again, goes in search of the spirit to get souls for Death, and finds an underground passage into the cave, disrupting Sinister plans. After reuniting with Wolverine on the surface, Deadpool travels further to the Citadel, defeating the Marauder clones, and then a group of Sinister clones. The real Sinister later appears and, after defeating the X-Men, Deadpool kills him. Deadpool is not sure if he killed the real Sinister. Captions begin.

Development and Marketing

The game was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con International in 2012 [12] . The announcement was only a game trailer, and the platforms on which the game will be released were not disclosed [12] . Soon, an article was published on the official website of Marvel Publishing House, written on behalf of Deadpool himself and confirming information on the development of the game hired for this by High Moon Studios [6] .

GameSpot released a New Year's advertisement for the game, where Deadpool congratulates people on the holiday and talks about pre-ordering the game, saying that the release is scheduled for 2013 [13] .

Later, in a press release, Peter Della Penna revealed that Daniel Way is already written a script for the game, introducing humor familiar from comics [14] .

The game was created on the Unreal Engine 3 engine , which was also used by developers in Transformers: War for Cybertron and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron [15] .

Release

The game was released on June 25, 2013 [16] . The version for Microsoft Windows was connected to Steam with all the achievements from other platforms [17] .

The publisher in the former USSR, in addition to Latvia , Lithuania and Estonia , was the New Disc company, which also localized the game, while leaving the original dubbing. [eighteen]

Preorder

The game was available for pre-order in stores such as Amazon , EBGames and GameStop . When pre-ordering through Amazon, it was possible to get a loan of $ 5 or 3 pounds , which could be spent on various Marvel Comics comics, and the customer also received digital wallpapers. After pre-order through GameStop and EBGames, it was possible to download two additional levels that were available in the test mode, as well as two bonus costumes for the character [19] [20] .
