Khash [1] ( pers. خاش ) is a city in the south-east of Iran , in the provinces of Sistan and Balochistan . The administrative center of Shahrestan Khash.

History
On April 16, 2013, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred on the border of Iran and Pakistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was near the city of Khash [2] .
Geography
Located near the border with Pakistan , at an altitude of 1400 m above sea level [3] .
Population
The population according to 2012 is 71 521 people; according to 2006, it numbered 56,683 people [4] . The population of the city is represented mainly by the Baloch people. The most common language is Balochi .
