Novotroitsk Gorodishche - Slav settlement , located on the bank of the river Psel near the village of Pristaylovo, Lebedinsky district, Sumy region of Ukraine . Researcher I. I. Lyapushkin date Novotroitsk site of ancient settlement VIII — IX centuries. The settlement belonged to representatives of the Romensko-Borsch culture ( northerners ).

Content
Description
The remains of 50 dugouts with log walls, inside of which were located clay watches, were found. Dugouts adjoined household and industrial buildings. Agricultural inventory found: coulters , scythes, sickles , axes . Also found weapons (arrows and combat iron knives). The jewelry is represented by wire and semi-ray (" Radimich ") [1] temporal rings , silver bracelets and bronze rings. The inhabitants of the settlement cultivated wheat, rye, barley and millet.
At the Novotroitsk site of ancient settlement, the finds of cattle bones, pigs, horses, as well as dogs and chickens are also known [2] .
The Rannermenskaya stage, represented by the culture of Novotroitsk and Oposhnyansky settlements, separates the finale of Volyntsev culture at the beginning of the 9th century and the beginning of the Late Termen region phase of Romensk culture [3] .
Doom
It was established that the settlement died as a result of a raid by nomads (probably Pechenegs ), dwellings were burned, and a part of the population was slaughtered (human remains were found in many dwellings). According to numismatic data, the rout of the Novotroitsk site of ancient settlement dates back to 830–840 years, according to I. I. Lyapushkin, the date of the defeat should be moved to the middle of the 9th century [4] [5] [6] .
