It flows through the territory of the Staroyuryevsky and Sarajevo regions. It originates from the village of Bolshaya Verda on the border of the regions. The flow of the north-east direction. Between the villages of Sysoi and Borets it flows into the river Paru , 126 km from its mouth on the left bank. The length of the river is 75 km, the catchment area is 830 km². The width of the channel in the lower reaches in some places reaches 30 m [2] .
On the river there is an urban-type settlement Sarai . For 25 km, from the Verda station ( Ryazhsk – Morshansk line ) to the mouth, it is suitable for kayaking [2] .
