Masonin, along with other sentences, carried out the sentence of the guillotine of a woman (Madeleine Mouton, Fr. Madeleine Mouton , in 1948), the last in Algeria, which became the pre-guillotine of a woman in France and her colonies.
He was replaced at the post by his son Fernand Mason , who from early age helped his father, and eventually became the last executioner in French Algeria. At the same time, he was never formally appointed to this position, as it was preserved for his father, despite the fact that the latter stopped carrying out death sentences.
Despite the fact that Masoni was a Communist by political convictions, he, in addition to the executioner's duties as an executioner, kept his bar.
