Biography

Orthodox. From an old princely family .

In 1892 he graduated from the Imperial College of Jurisprudence and was included in the State Chancellery .

Then for three three years he was elected Odoevsky, Tula province, the district leader of the nobility .

With the outbreak of World War I, he went to the front at the head of a Red Cross detachment. For selfless work under fire he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree with swords and a bow, and the St. George medal of the 4th degree.

In November 1915, he was appointed Yaroslavl Vice-Governor , then served as Simbirsk Governor (1916-1917). He rose to the rank of state adviser , had the rank of chamber junker .

In the fall of 1918 he arrived in the Kuban, where he joined the Volunteer Army . At the head of a flying Red Cross detachment, he participated in battles up to the Novorossiysk evacuation . In March 1920, having evacuated to Crimea , he entered the Consolidated Guards Cavalry Regiment: he was in charge of the sanitary unit in the squadron of the Life Guards of the Cuirassier His Majesty regiment, and from May of that year until the evacuation of Crimea he was the head of the sanitary transport in the Consolidated Guards Cavalry Regiment. Two of his sons served as officers in the same regiment. He was awarded the St. George medal of the 3rd degree for the battle near the village of the Stallion, in which

 

Under difficult conditions, under rifle and machine-gun fire, he helped the wounded and took everyone without exception.

 

In exile in Yugoslavia, then moved to Belgium. He was a delegate to the Church Abroad in Sremski Karlovtsy . He was a member of His Majesty’s Cuirassier Association of the Regiment [1] and an authorized Committee of the Law Office. He was one of the initiators of the construction of the Temple-monument in the name of Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II in Brussels, was elected a member of the committee for the construction of the temple. He was the church headman of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ.

He died in 1953 near Brussels. He was buried in the local cemetery of Ixelles .

Family

He was married to Vera Pavlovna Likhacheva (? —1953). Their kids:

  • Igor (1895-1975), graduate of the Page Corps , staff captain of the Life Guards of the Cuirassiers of His Majesty Regiment . Member of the White Movement as part of the Volunteer Army and the All-Union Union of Liberal Democratic Forces , commander of the division of the Life Guards of the Cuirassier His Majesty regiment in the Consolidated Guards Cavalry Regiment, lieutenant colonel. In exile in Belgium, a memoirist [2] .
  • Alexei (1897-1920), Cornet of the Life Guards of His Majesty's Cuirassier Regiment. Member of the White Movement as part of the Volunteer Army and the All-Union Socialist League, lieutenant of the Combined Guards Cavalry Regiment. He was killed on March 17, 1920 near Yegorlykskaya [2] .
