Club career

Diego started playing football at the Santa Maria Club's youth school. At the age of 10, the boy moved to the Rapido Bousak school in his hometown, and also played for youth teams from other clubs. Marigno joined Villarreal in 2004 at the age of 14 and played in the club’s youth teams for four years, gaining experience with older players.

In 2008, Diego Mariño entered into his first professional contract with the club and played for the Villarreal C team for two years. He played 48 matches during this time. Since 2010, Diego played in the reserve staff of “ Villarreal B ”. His debut for the team took place in the 2010/11 season, for which he played 38 matches. The next season was especially successful for the player. He played 35 matches and showed a high level of play. After the departure of Diego Lopez, Marigno was declared in the main staff of Villarreal .

A young talented player from the age of 18 was involved in the youth teams of Spain.
