The Church of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in Veliky Novgorod is located at the crossroads of Kozmodemyanskaya and Tikhvin streets , on the territory of the historical Nerevsky end . 100 m to the north is the Nikolo-Kochanovskaya church .

The temple was built in 1819-1824 on the site of an ancient temple and assigned to the Novgorod garrison. Until 1930, it remained valid. It was later closed and adapted for a flour mill.

He was badly damaged during the war . In the late 1940s, it was restored in the form of an ordinary building - without a bell tower, apses and a cupola, but retained 4-columned porticoes on the southern and northern facades. The building housed a dormitory. Later it was given to the management of the Novgorod river port.

As of the end of 2012, the former church building is occupied by the territorial department of the Federal Financial and Budget Supervision Service.
