Valsad ( Eng. Valsad , Guja . વલસાડ ) is a city and municipality in the southeastern part of the Indian state of Gujarat . The administrative center of Valsad County.

Geography
It is located 4 km from the coast of the Arabian Sea , about 100 km south of the city of Surat and 150 km north of Mumbai , at an altitude of 12 m above sea level [1] .
Population
According to the 2011 census, the city population is 114,987 people [2] . The population of the city including the suburbs according to the same census totals 170,235 people [3] . About 93% of the population of Valsad are Hindu ; 3.7% - Jainism ; 2% - Islam ; 0.4% are Christianity and 0.9% are other religions.
Economics and Transport
The basis of the economy is growing Alfonso mangoes.
National highway number 8 passes through the city. There is a railway connection.
Famous Natives
The fourth Prime Minister of India (from March 24, 1977 to July 15, 1979), Morarji Desai, was born in Valsada.
From the name of the city comes the name of Farrukh Bulsar , whose father Bomi was born here. [four]
