Subbi, Olev

Subbi Olev Iohannesovich ( est. Olev Subbi ; 1930 - 2013 ) - Estonian painter, Honored Artist of the Estonian SSR (1976), People's Artist of the Estonian SSR (1987), Honorary Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Arts . Pictures of the artist are in the collections of the Estonian Art Museum , the State Tretyakov Gallery , the Ludwig Museum in Cologne and the collections of other museums.

Chronology of life and work

Born on March 17, 1930 in Tartu ( Estonia ) in the family of Johanness (1888–1942 ) and Ella (1892–1966 ) Subbi.

1948 - graduated from high school.

1949 - 1957 - serving a link in the Krasnoyarsk Territory ( Great March deportation ).

1957 - returns from exile to Tartu.

1957 - 1962 - study at the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR .

1965 - paintings are written: A man from the banks of Kolga. H. , m .; 100 × 140 cm. HME . Portrait of mom . H., m .; 70 × 100 cm. HME . Portrait of a blacksmith Ülo H., m .; 100 × 70 cm. HME

1967 - Paintings: The Picasilla Landscape . H. , m ., Tempera . 100 × 70 cm. HME . Flowers on the round table . H., m., Tempera. 70 × 55 cm. HME .

1968 - paintings: Nude against the backdrop of the landscape. H., m, tempera. 110 × 160 cm. HME . Landscape with carnations. H., m., T. 43 × 63 cm. Lifetime with cloves. X., m., T. 100 × 117 cm.

1969 - paintings: Summer. X., m. 130 × 160 cm. The State Tretyakov Gallery . Nude with a red flower. X., m., T. 120 × 100 cm.

1984 - a trip (in the summer) to Krasnoyarsk .

1987 - Diploma of the Academy of Arts of the USSR for the painting (polyptych [1] ) “Great South-Estonian Landscape” (1986).

He died on August 19, 2013.
