Geography and climate

The village of Solyanka is located near the right bank of the Volga . Solyanka is a western suburb of Astrakhan . The village is surrounded by the territory of the city from the north, east and south, in connection with which the urban land transport routes of Astrakhan, connecting Novolesnoye, Streletskoye, Volga region with the city center pass through it in transit. The climate is sharply continental, westerly winds prevail. The soil is sandy loamy.

History

The village was founded in the second half of the 18th century by the Yurt Tatars in the amount of 175 people. The village received its name because of the many salt sources surrounding it (“su” - water). In 1744, Turkmens , Kazan Tatars , Mishars — Kalpaklar, Kyrgyz — settled there. According to the surviving information, in 1797 there were 7 mosques in Solyanka, the village was divided into 7 quarters - “makhalla” with its name and advice - “mahalla” at the head. In 1869, the village population numbered 802 people. Residents engaged in timber trade, petty trade, gardening. In 1900, the population increased and already amounted to 1540 people. There was a sawmill, cooper (for 25 people) factories, drowning, a forge , a fire train, a school, 5 wooden mosques [2] .

Narrating about the “Kundrovites” - Karagash, the first systematist of Russian ethnography I.G. Georgi at the end of the 18th century notes among them “several buruti (the dzungars were called Kyrgyz daggers), or a large horde of Kirghiz, who in 1758 joined with a certain number of Soongars (i.e. Dzhungars)”. A large group of “Uvachanovo Burut Tatars” in the “urine” and their branch together with karagash were marked by a revision tale of 1782. Until now, the mixed community of Nogai origin living in the “urine” has the most respected genus “Kyrgyz”. In the suburban Yurt-Nogai village Solyanka of the Volga right bank, a very small quarter “Kyrgyz” was recorded. More or less free migration to the Lower Volga led to a sharp increase towards the end of the XVIII century. population of the region, its multinational composition. Kalmyks were still the largest population group, after the Russians. Semi-nomadic and sedentary peoples were represented by almost 12 thousand people. karagash (with a part of the Butruts), 6 thousand Yurt residents (with the Emeks and their descendants), 2.5 thousand Turkmens, 1.5 thousand Utars with the Burut, 0.5 thousand Tuluganov’s Kundrovites. Solyansky village Council of People's Deputies and its executive committee was formed as part of the Quarantine volost of Astrakhan district in 1919 . In July 1925 it was included in the Zatsarevsky district of the Lower Volga region, transferred to the Trusovsky region in 1927 , the Astrakhan region in 1928 , the Narimanov district in 1931 [4] .

In 1930, by decision of the general meeting of village citizens, a collective farm was established to them. Lenin [5] .

In May 1944, the village became part of the Volga region of the Astrakhan region . Since February 1963, it has been part of the Narimanov District of the Narimanov District [4] .

According to the 2010 census, the population is 3,738. About 70% of the population are Tatars . Also live Russian and Kazakhs . [11] According to the 2002 census, Tatars made up 61% of the population of the village [12]
