Berezhnaya, Irina Grigorievna

Early years

Born on August 13, 1980 in Voroshilovgrad, in the family of lawyer Elena Petrovna Berezhnoy ^[3] .

In 2002 she graduated from the Law Faculty of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University with a degree in Jurisprudence. At the age of 19, she opened a travel company ^[4] , which in two years turned into a profitable business project ^[4] .

During her studies, Irina Berezhnaya underwent an internship at the State Commission for Securities and the Stock Market (from 1999 to 2000 she worked in the Division of Investigation of Offenses in the Securities Market of the Control and Legal Department). She held the position of assistant consultant to the Head of the Subcommittee on Legislation.

Professional activities

After graduating from the University, Berezhnaya underwent further training at the First Notary Office in Kiev . From February 1 to March 19, 2004 she worked as Deputy Director for Civil Affairs at the company “Astroy-Service”. In January 2004, having passed the qualifying exam, she received a certificate of right to engage in notarial activities, and in March she registered as a private entrepreneur. During the three years of work, the notary office of I. G. Berezhnaya became one of the most famous and successful in Kiev. , and in 2008 received the European Quality award ( European Quality ) from the European Business Assembly (Oxford).

In 2007, Irina defended her thesis and received her Ph.D. in law (in the Bologna education system). In September 2008, the Nomination Committee of the European Business Assembly and the Academic Council of the International University of Vienna awarded the international title “Honorary Professor of the International University of Vienna” to Irina Berezhnoy, noting her contribution to the development of international relations in the fields of science, politics, education and business. In 2009, she received a second degree in the specialty “Public Administration” at the National Academy of Management under the President of Ukraine.

Political career

In September 2007, Irina Berezhnaya was elected a People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation from the Party of Regions. She was the head of the Subcommittee on the protection of rights, freedoms, interests of citizens and systematization, adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to international legal standards in the field of justice and the status of judges of the Verkhovna Rada Committee of Ukraine on Justice. She took an active civil position, took part in congresses of public organizations of Ukraine - the Ukrainian Bar Association, the Notary Chamber of Ukraine, the European Business Association, and so on. In 2012, she was reelected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Irina is known to the public through the project “Dancing with the Stars”, which was on the 1 + 1 TV channel in 2007 : on the show she announced the results of the audience vote as the official notary of the project. In 2012, as part of the team of the Party of Regions, she appeared in the game “ What? Where? When? "On the TV channel" Inter " , was several times recognized as the best player of the team. Since 2008, she has led the author’s program “Your right with Irina Berezhnoy” on Radio Era radio station, in which she advised Ukrainians on legal issues and helped to use national legislation in real life to protect the violated rights of citizens.

In the Supreme Council

In her political positions, Irina Berezhnaya was a moderate politician, advocated reforms in the legal and judicial systems of Ukraine . As a member of the Ukrainian side of the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, she actively participated in joint meetings of the Committee. Together with André Pinchuk, he is the author of the bill banning the sale of alcohol at night ^[5] .

She was the founder of the “Consular Club” together with the EU representative office in Ukraine, whose goal is to monitor current issues related to visa liberalization and simplification of obtaining Schengen visas for Ukrainian citizens.

After Euromaidan

She considered Euromaidan armed coup. She refused to take part in the early parliamentary elections, which she considered illegal and undemocratic (due to non-participation in them of the residents of Donbass ^[6] ). According to Berezhnoy, the new convocation has become an interlude for Maidan activists, populist clowns and pseudo kombat ^[7] .

She accused the new authorities of working in the western countries and plundering the country (predicting the Syrian scenario ), and she condemned the military operation in the east of Ukraine. She advocated the preservation of cultural and economic ties with the Russian Federation ^[7] . Skeptical about the introduction of a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU ^[8] .

During the war in the east of Ukraine, together with his mother, she created the Institute of Legal Policy and Social Protection, whose objectives were to protect the interests of the residents of Donbass in the territories not controlled by Ukraine ^[9] . Later the organization’s struggle to rename Kiev Vatutin Avenue into Shukhevych Avenue was mentioned ^[6] .

From 2014 to July 2017 - a guest of Russian political talk shows (in particular, "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov " ^{[8] [10] [11]} ).

Personal life

On July 5, 2009, daughter Danielle was born out of wedlock ^{[8]. [12]} Her father's name, Irina, kept a secret; in her life, she did not fundamentally show her daughter in public or in the photo on social networks. The media assumed that her daughter’s father was a businessman, Boris Fuchsman ^[13] , which he himself later confirmed ^[14] . She called her hobbies traveling and equestrian sport, to which Nestor Shufrich introduced her. She loved to read and attend theater premieres.

Since April 7, 2012, the godmother is the daughter of singer Ani Lorak , Sofia Muratovna Nalchadzhioglu (born June 9, 2011), her godfather Philip Kirkorov .

Doom

On August 5, 2017 at night at 01:30 am, on the highway between the Croatian settlements of Maslenitsa and Posedarje , a Mercedes with Bulgarian numbers drove in the direction of Posedarje, but for unknown reasons, left the carriageway and drove into a pillar. Irina Berezhnaya and a 38-year-old driver, a citizen of Bulgaria, died on the spot. As a result of the accident, Irina's daughter was injured, she was hospitalized in the hospital of Zadar . Traffic on this section of the road was blocked. To extract the bodies of the dead was caused by a special technique ^{[15] [16]} .

On August 10, in the Refectory Church of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra , politicians Dmitry Dobkin, Nestor Shufrich , Anna German , David Zhvania , Nikolai Martynenko ^[17] , the chief editor of the website “Country.ua” Igor Guzhva , TV presenters Anatoly Anatolich and Olga Freimut , singer were at the farewell ceremony. Svetlana Loboda , producer Natella Krapivina and director Alan Badoev ^[18] . She was buried in Kiev at Zvirynetsky Cemetery ^{[19] [20]} .
