Biography

Born in a Russian family of a veterinarian . In 1908, as a teenager, he entered the Aleksandrovsky Real School , after which in 1915 he entered the mechanical department of the Marine Engineering School in Kronstadt . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1920 . He was appointed to the headquarters of the Baltic Fleet Naval Forces, then for some time served as a mechanical engineer in the North Dvina River Flotilla . In 1921 - 1925 he studied at the Faculty of Engineering at the Naval Academy , was an adjutant of the Academy in the department of propellers. Head of the Communications Service of the North Sea Naval Forces (Northern Frontier Fleet of the OGPU troops ) in 1923 . [3] In 1924, he participated in the first overseas voyage of a ship of the Soviet fleet - the messenger ship " Vorovsky " (from Arkhangelsk to Vladivostok ). In 1930, in the Hamburg experimental basin, he studied the theoretical and experimental means of conducting scientific research in hydromechanics and introduced it into domestic practice. He developed a method for calculating propellers and generalized it in scientific work, conducted towing model tests. In 1930 - 1931 he was the head of the Leningrad Experimental Basin , achieved the transformation of the basin into the Scientific Research Institute of Military Shipbuilding (NIVK), was the founder and responsible editor of the works of NIVK , contributed to the transformation of the institute into a leading research center of Soviet shipbuilding. He participated in the preparation of the multi-volume edition of the Shipbuilding Handbook. He fought against manifestations of neglect of world practice in the development of domestic science and technology. In 1934, as a member of the delegation of the RKKF, he visited France and Italy . From 1931 to 1937 he held the position of head of the Research Institute of Military Shipbuilding of the Naval Forces of the Red Army .

Repression

In June 1937, they were summoned to Moscow to report to I.V. Stalin on the creation of a new experimental pool and the acquisition of equipment for it abroad. But as soon as he uttered a few phrases, Stalin abruptly cut him off, uttering terrible words: " We do not trust you ."

Arrested on July 11, 1937 . The investigation methods were cruel, and Nikolai Vladimirovich could not resist the onslaught of a whole brigade of torturers, and was forced to testify in which he confirmed the fact of his participation in the counter-revolutionary organization engaged in wrecking in the fleet, including the Garibaldiyets submarine explosions ( Black Sea Fleet ) and Stalinets ( KBF ), which killed 12 people. At the trial, he refused his previous testimonies, pleaded not guilty and wrote on his indictment with his own blood “ Patriot of his Homeland ”. However, this no longer mattered to the court.

A visiting session of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR in Leningrad was convicted of VMN on charges of art. Art. 58-1, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR . Shot on the day of the verdict, February 22, 1938 , and buried in Leningrad . Rehabilitated on January 21, 1956 . His wife Klavdia Vasilyevna Alyakrinskaya was sentenced to 8 years in prison .
