The championship for the fifth time was won by the Scotland national team , which bypassed the British by one point. The third place was taken by the team of Wales , the fourth - by the team of Ireland .

The championship began with two home matches of the England team, defeating Wales and Ireland with a total score of 10: 2. Then the Irish were defeated with a score of 0: 7 in the match against Scotland. In the next match, which was decisive in the end of the tournament, England and Scotland teams met. In the game, which took place at a fast pace, the Scottish team won with a score of 3: 2, while the winning goal was scored at the last minute. In the next match against Wales, the Scots for winning the title was enough to score only one point. The game ended in a goalless draw that was rare for that time, bringing the champion title to the Scottish national team. In the final match of the tournament, Wales beat Ireland 3-1 with hat-trick Richard Jarrett , thus ending the championship in third place.
