Biography

Bronislav Dombrowski was born on November 2, 1917 in the village of Grodzets. After receiving secondary education, he joined the monastic congregation of Orionists. June 10, 1945 Bronislaw Dombrowski was ordained a priest by Anthony Shlyagovsky .

On November 24, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed Bronislaw Dombrosky the titular bishop of Adrianother and the auxiliary bishop of the Warsaw Archdiocese. On March 25, 1962, in the Warsaw Cathedral of St. John the Baptist , Bronislaw Dombrowski was ordained a bishop, performed by Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski , accompanied by Bishops Francis Korszynski and Sigmund Horomanski .

From 1969 to 1993 he was secretary of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Poland . He participated in the political life of Polish society, representing the Conference of Polish Catholic Bishops at the so-called Magdalenka meetings organized by the Polish communist authorities and the anti-communist opposition in the village of Magdalenka of the Masovian Voivodeship .

In 1990, he received an honorary degree from Dr. Honoris causa of the Catholic University of Lublin .

He retired on February 27, 1993 . He died on January 25, 1997 and was buried in the Old Powowski cemetery.
