The Umansky district was formed on July 19, 1924 as part of the Kuban district of the Southeast Region. On October 16, 1924, the Southeast Region was transformed into the North Caucasus Territory.
By the beginning of 1925, 5 village councils entered Umansky district: Bely, Krylovsky, Kulikovsky, Novoplatnirovsky and Umansky.
February 11, 1927 Umansky district was abolished. At the same time, Krylovsky s / s was transferred to Kanevsky district , and Bely, Kulikovsky, Novoplatnirovsky and Umansky s / s - to Pavlovsky district .
