Creation History
The Metropolis was formed by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on December 25-26, 2012 [1] . The ruling bishop of the Tambov diocese was appointed head of the metropolis.

Michurin Diocese
Territory: Michurinsky , Morshansky , Nikiforovsky , Pervomaysky , Petrovsky , Sosnovsky and Staroyuryevsky districts of the Tambov region .
The ruling hierarch is the bishop of Michurinsky and Morshansky Hermogenes (Gray) .
Tambov Diocese
Territory: Tambov , Bondar , Znamensky , Mordovia , Pichaevsky , Rasskazovsky , Sampursky , Tokarevsky districts of the Tambov region.
The ruling hierarch - Metropolitan of Tambov and Rasskazovsky Theodosius (Vasnev) .
Diocese of Uvarov
