Biography
Roy Mitchell Kinnear was born on January 8, 1934 in Wigan in the family of rugby player Roy Muir Kinnear and Annie Smith. He received his secondary education at George Heriot's School , at the age of 17 he entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art . Since the late 1950s, he began to appear on the stage of theaters under the guidance of Joan Littlewood ( Joan Littlewood ), from prominent roles can be identified his participation in the productions of "Sparrows do not sing", "The Secret Marriage" ( The Clandestine Marriage ), " Cherry Orchard ". In 1955 and 1956, he twice starred in episodic roles of passing films, and since the beginning of the 1960s, actors began to be invited to roles constantly, and for 28 years he starred in about a hundred and a half films and series.
On September 19, 1988, Roy Kinnear fell from his horse during the filming of The Return of the Musketeers and suffered a severe pelvic fracture. He was immediately taken from Toledo , where the episode was shot, to the hospital in Madrid , but died there the next day from a heart attack [1] . The Kinnir family demanded an investigation to find out if Roy had been provided with all the necessary medical care, or if he had died due to the negligence of doctors. The director of “The Return of the Musketeers” Richard Lester finished this film, added a dedication to the dead actor in the credits, and after that he left the big movie forever, motivating it with the death of Kinnir [2] .
In 1994, the Roy Kinnear Foundation was founded, the purpose of which is to help physically and mentally disabled teens [3] .
