Hernan, son of Eogan

Hernan ( Hernan mac Eogain ; irl. Ernan mac Eogain ; died c. 640 ) - Irish saint . Memorial Days - January 1 [1] , December 21 and 22 [2] .

Biography

Hernan, son of Eogan, was the nephew of St. Columbus . He is sometimes confused with Hernan , Abbot Hinba, uncle of Columbus. His monastery was in Ireland, in Druim-Tomma , in Drumholm County , in the county of Donegal . He is revered as the patron saint of Killernan , although he may not have been to Scotland , or as the patron saint of Drumhome, where the school is named after him. Kilviceuen ("church of the son of Eogan") on the island of Mull and Kilearnadale on the island of Jura can be named after him.
