The flagship engineer of the fleet - the military rank of the Naval Forces of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army of the USSR (MF RKKA USSR) [4] was introduced by Decree of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR and SNK of the USSR of September 22, 1935 [5] approved by the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR No. 2591 for Naval Forces of the Red Army of the USSR of September 22, 1935 and announced by order of the People’s Commissar of Defense No. 144 of September 26, 1935.
The rank, flagship engineer of the fleet, was canceled on May 7, 1940 due to the introduction of new ranks approved by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR "On the establishment of military ranks of the highest command staff of the Navy."
Previous lower rank: 1st rank flagship engineer .
It corresponded to the ranks of the commander of the 2nd rank and the army commissar of the 2nd rank ; an analogue of the military rank of admiral in the Russian, Soviet and foreign navies.
