Modeselektor is a musical duet from Berlin , which includes two producers and “crazy” DJs Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. The project is mainly oriented around idm, glitch, electro and hip hop styles. They collect all their material on their own developed software and MIDI controllers, which makes their performances very innovative.

Content

History

Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary met in 1992 in Berlin at an illegal underground party. Soon, both decided to join forces to work under the pseudonym Fundamental Knowledge, which clearly expressed their position on electronic sound. But in 1996, they renamed the project to Modeselektor, the word that the function on the Space Echo effector gave them. After several years of experimentation and hard work in the studio, the guys focused on live performances.

In 1999, the group entered into its first remix contract and began working with Pfadfinderei, a Berlin-based team of designers and VJs. In 2000, they met techno diva Ellen Allien, while also launching their own label Bpitch Control. Many stars at that time decided to work with them. Among them is the Sascha Ring , known as Apparat . Their joint project was called Moderat. Pfadselektor, under this name they worked together with Pfadfinderei. They also worked with Team Shadetek, with London MC Sasha perera, paul st. hillaire (Rhythm & Sound). Gernot and Sebastian were invited as lecturers at Merz Akademie, Stuttgart.

The duo is a favorite project of the frontman of the band Radiohead Tom York . He constantly recommends them in his interviews and charts.

The release on September 13, 2007, entitled “Happy Birthday!” Took place with the help of Tom York and Maxïmo Park . The album was marked immediately after release by many music publications. And even entered the top of the large portal Beatport in third place. Modeselektor has a very good relationship with Siriusmo , and always promote and support all his releases and remixes.
