The Upornensky district was formed on August 21, 1939 as part of the Krasnodar Territory. It consisted of 8 village councils: Zassovsky, Sladkiy, the Union of 16 farms and Upornensky were transferred from the Labinsky district ; Akhmetovsky, Gofitsky, Kalajinsky and Valiant - from the Mostovsky district .
On August 22, 1953, the Upornensky District was abolished. At the same time, Akhmetovsky, Gofitsky and Otvazhniy s / s were transferred to the Spokoyn district , and Zassovsky, Kalajinsky, Sladkiy, Soyuz 16 farms and Upornensky - to the Labinsky district .
