Ashmanis, Karlis

Kārlis Ašmanis ( Latvian: Kārlis Ašmanis ; 1898 - 1962 , Riga ) - Latvian footballer , defender , player of the Latvian national team , participant in the 1924 Summer Olympics , three - time champion of Latvia . In Soviet times, he was repressed , spent several years in exile [1] .

Career

In the first Latvian soccer championships, Karlis Ashmanis played for Jauneklu Kristiga Savieniba [2] , and in 1923 he joined the newly formed Rigas FC [3] . As part of Rigas FC, Karlis Ashmanis three times became the champion of Latvia.

In 1922, Karlis Ashmanis took part in the first official match of the Latvian national team [4] , and in 1924 he went to the VIII Olympiad as part of the national team, where he played in a single match against the French national team (0: 7) [5] .
