Let's meet you tonight
We will opium smoke-rit-rit ...
Let's meet you tonight
Speak Chinese ...
Do not hide the music - it is opium
For anyone, only for us ...
Let's die fun tonight
Let's play decadence ...- “Opium for Nobody,” “Agatha Christie”
The song “Opium for Nobody” sounds in the film “ PiraMMMida ” by Eldar Salavatov.
Here is what Gleb Samoilov says about this song:
| ... a kind of slogan was formulated in the album "Opium": "Music is opium for anyone." What does this mean? Based on the phrase "Religion is Opium for the People", which was introduced at one time by the Social Democrats. There was such an antithesis. "Opium" - in the same sense in which the word was used by the Communists, that is, something intoxicating. And “for anyone,” because art is a valuable thing and does not belong to anyone, it does not depend on anyone. And, roughly speaking, even we, the people who create it, are equally dependent on art and obey it, like the audience. |
Gleb Samoilov in his interviews has repeatedly argued that people perceive this song rather one-sidedly, take words out of context. According to him, the song is “banter over rockers and in many ways above itself - black clothes, face painting, done decadence” .
In 1995, the video for the song was also shot (dir., Anatoly Bersenev).
According to the results of 1995, the Rock-Fuzz magazine recognized the clip for the song “Opium for Nobody” as the best clip of the year, and the song itself as the best song of the year [1] .
Cover versions of the song “Opium for Nobody” were performed by groups: “ Bi-2 ”, “ A Studio ”. Also for the musical “Z Joke”, the English version of the song “Opium” was performed by Marta Adamchuk.
Since 2015, the song can be heard at The Matrixx concerts.
