History
The modern titular diocese of Abernathy is the successor to the historical Catholic diocese, which existed until the 11th century in the territory of the modern county of Perthshire , Scotland . The diocese with its center in Abernathy was established by the Holy See around 800 and was abolished around 1050.
Since 1974, the Diocese of Abernathy has been the titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.
