Onda is a city and municipality in the department of Tolima , Colombia . In the north it borders with the Department of Caldas , and in the east with the Department of Kundinamarca . Located on the banks of the Magdalena River . As of 2005, 26,873 people lived in the municipality. The economy is based on livestock, fisheries and tourism.

It was founded on August 24, 1539. The status of the city received June 15, 1830.
