DeCovan Kadell Brown ( DeCovan Kadell "Dee" Brown , born November 29, 1968) is an American professional basketball player who has played 12 seasons at the National Basketball Association for the Boston Celtics , Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic .

Biography

Jacksonville University graduate Brown was selected by the Boston Celtics Club in the 1990 NBA Draft in the first round with a total number of 19. According to the results of the first season in the NBA, in which he scored an average of 8.7 points per game, he was selected in the first team of the NBA newcomers. In 1991, he won the top-throw competition by performing a slam dunk with his eyes closed. In the seasons 1993/94 and 1994/95, he entered the Celtics starting line-up, gaining record-breaking in his career on average over 15 points per game. After spending seven and a half seasons in Boston, he was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 1998 with Chauncey Billups . In 2000, he moved to Orlando Magic , where in 2002 he completed his professional career as a player.

At the end of his career as a player, he began working as a coach at the Women's National Basketball Association , first as the head coach of Orlando Miracle and then San Antonio Silver Stars [1] . In 2005, becoming the winner of the Dream Job reality show, he received a one-year contract to work as an analyst on ESPN , where he became the host of the City Slam show ! .

In 2005, Brown founded EDGE Basketball, where he took over as head of the board. The specialization of the company was the training of players from high school, before they became professionals.

July 29, 2009 Brown became the head coach of the Springfield Armor club from the NBA Development League , as well as the director of basketball operations of the team [2] [3] . In the first season, his team finished with a score of 7-43, and in the second - 13-37.

In September 2011, Brown announced that he would become assistant to the Detroit Pistons head coach Lawrence Frank [4] [5] .

On July 9, 2013, Brown became an assistant coach and director of player development at Sacramento Kings [6] [7] .

Before joining the 2016/17 season, Brown joined the Los Angeles Clippers coaching staff.
