Desagana Ngagne Diop ( Eng. DeSagana N'gagne Diop ; born January 30, 1982) is a Senegalese professional basketball player who played at the National Basketball Association . Currently he is an assistant to the head coach of the Utah Jazz team.

Professional career
Deepo was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers Club in the 2001 NBA Draft in the first round with a total number 8. He became the fifth high school student, after Kwame Brown , Tyson Chandler , Eddie Curry and Osman Kisse , who nominated himself for this draft. In the Cavaliers, for 4 seasons, he played 193 games, mostly appearing on substitutions. His average performance in the Cavaliers was 1.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.8 block shots per game. On August 19, 2005, Diop signed a contract with Dallas Mavericks as a free agent, where he soon established himself as a reliable defender and competed with Eric Dampier in the center position. After December 31, 2005, he became the main centering “Mavericks” and thanks to his support, the team was able to reach the NBA Finals. In the 2005/06 season, he became one of the best defenders of the league, taking 11th place in block-shots of the season and 4th place in block-shots in 48 minutes of play.
On February 19, 2008, Diop was traded to the New Jersey Nets [1] , but on July 9 of the same year he signed a six-year contract worth $ 32 million from Mavericks [2] . On January 16, 2009, he was traded to Charlotte Bobcats for Matt Carroll and Ryan Hollins. [3]
On September 30, 2013, Diop signed a contract with Cleveland Cavaliers [4] , but as early as October 25, the team refused its services [5] .
Coaching career
On November 11, 2014, Diop entered the coaching staff of the NBA Development League club “ Texas Lagends ”, where he took the post of player development coach [6] . October 19, 2014 he was transferred to the post of assistant head coach [7] .
