Biography
After graduating from school in Hollywood , he worked as a messenger on 20th Century Fox , where he began his film career in 1943. In 1944-1949. served in the US Navy. Demobilized, he continued to act as one of the most popular character actors, best known for the roles of “tough guys” - cowboys, hit men, etc. In 1972 he was nominated for an Oscar as the best supporting actor in the movie “Sometimes Great idea". He starred in television a lot. Died after three years of fighting melanoma .
