Vessel History
The keel of the ship under building number 421 was laid down at the Finnyards Finnish yard in Rauma on September 2, 1997. [4] The icebreaker was launched on February 20, 1998 [4] . After the construction was completed, the vessel was transferred to the Finnish Maritime Administration and until 2012 performed ice pilotage of vessels flying the Finnish flag. An icebreaker is capable of breaking ice 1.2 meters thick [7] .
