General Information

The first seeded in a single player tournament was Nicholas Almagro (then the tenth racket of the world). The Spaniard confidently advanced on the grid, but in the semifinals he could not cope with Juan Monaco , losing to him in the decisive game. The Argentine then converted this victory into a general title, having outplayed Tommy Haas in the title match. The German, who entered the competition at the special invitation of the organizers, had previously stripped the tournament of last year’s champion: having beat Gilles Simon in the second round.

The doubles went to the unseeded alliance Fernando Verdasco / David Marrero , who outplayed the second and fourth teams of the tournament on the way to this stage.
