Key Activities

Designing technically complex systems and objects.

Development, improvement and implementation of industrial technologies related to the enrichment of uranium by the gas centrifuge method.

Research and development, including using nuclear materials and radioactive substances.

Production of scientific, technical, high-tech and high-tech processes.

Development of industrial processes and production projects.

Installation of control devices and regulation of technological processes.

History

On December 27, 1945, by an order of the Government of the USSR, a design bureau was created at the Leningrad Kirov Plant to develop the basic technological equipment for the separation of uranium isotopes by the gas diffusion method (Design Bureau LKZ).

From 1946 to 1953, 16 sizes of gas diffusion machines of various capacities were developed, 9 of which were put into mass production.

In 1952, by Decree of the Government of the USSR No. 3088 of July 8, 1952, work began on the creation of highly economical industrial gas centrifuges for the separation of uranium isotopes.

1955 - the design of an industrial gas centrifuge for the separation of uranium isotopes was created at OKB LKZ and on its basis at UECC in 1957 an experimental gas centrifuge plant was built and put into operation. [one]

1964 - OKB LKZ stands out from the Leningrad Kirov Plant and is transformed into an organization box 344.

1966 - part of the Central Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (now JSC TsKBM, part of JSC Atomenergomash).

By 1990, several generations of industrial gas centrifuges were developed and introduced into production. Over the years, with practically unchanged weight, overall and energy indicators, the performance of gas centrifuges has been increased 4 times, and the resource reliability has been increased from 3 to 25-30 years.

1992 - is being transformed into the Scientific and Technical Center “Centrifugal Technologies - TsKBM” (STC Centrotech - TsKBM ”).

On January 20, 1998, by order of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Atomic Energy No. 26, the Scientific and Technical Center “Centrotech” was transferred to the EKhZ Production Association as a structural unit.

By order of the Federal Atomic Energy Agency dated November 15, 2006 No. 556, the Scientific and Technical Center “Centrotech-ECP” was transformed into CJSC “Centrotech-SPb”.

Current status

He has 63 asset patents and more than 200 inventions.

Together with the Novouralsk Research and Development Center and OKB - Nizhny Novgorod makes up the top three Russian developers of gas centrifuges and, since only Russia owns a fully streamlined industrial technology for gas centrifugation, it is one of the world leaders in this area. [2] [2]
