Yucheng ( Chinese: 雨 城 , pinyin : Yǔchéng , literally: “rain city”) is the district of urban subordination of the Yaan urban district of Sichuan ( PRC ).

History
Under the empires of Qin and Han, Yandao County (严 道 县) existed here. Under the West Wei Empire, Shiyan County (始 阳县) was formed, and under the Sui Empire, Yandao County was restored. Under the Qing Empire, Ya'an County (雅安 县) was created.
In 1939, the province of Sikan was created, and these lands became part of it. In 1951, the city of Ya'an was formed on part of the land of Ya'an County. In 1951, the Ya'an Special District (雅安 专区) was formed. In 1955, after the liquidation of the Sikan Province, the Ya'an Special Region was transferred to Sichuan. In 1958, the city of Ya'an was disbanded, and its territory was transferred to the jurisdiction of Ya'an County.
In 1970, the Ya'an Special District was renamed the Ya'an County (雅安 地区). On September 9, 1983, Ya'an County was transformed into a city county.
In 2000, by resolution of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Ya'an County was transformed into an urban district; at the same time, the territory of the city district of Ya'an became the Yucheng district in its composition.
