Biography
Anthony's father is of Nigerian descent , and his mother is English .
Amateur career
He was seriously involved in football as a child and was part of the youth team of the Norwich City football club, but later began to engage in boxing.
The first major international success for Ogogo was silver at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010 in the category up to 75 kg.
At the London Olympics, he reached the semifinals in the weight category up to 75 kg , having won during the tournament against the boxer from the Dominican Republic Junior Castillo , controversially defeated the Ukrainian Evgeni Khitrov , and also defeated the German Stefan Hertel . However, in the semifinals, he lost to the Brazilian Esquiva Falcao with a score of 9:16.
Professional career
In 2013, announced the transition to professional boxing. He signed a contract with an American promotion company, Golden Boy Promotions . The first battle in this status took place on April 27, 2013 . [one]
