History
The plant was built in 1916 as a sam (weapons) for supplying the army with ammunition. The first batch of factory products was released on February 28, 1917.
In 1941, he began production of rockets (RS) for multiple rocket launchers (according to the terminology of the guards mortars ) BM-13 Katyusha and BM-31 . During the Second World War, the plant produced 245 million shells, which is comparable to the third part of the USSR’s ammunition released in Germany [9] . For outstanding contribution to the victory awarded the Order of Lenin .
On August 30, 1945, the Decree No. 9946ss / op “On the transfer to the First Main Directorate of the USSR Council of People's Commissars of the USSR Plant No. 12 of the Narcombish Meals” [10] was issued, this decision was made at a meeting of the special committee on August 24 [11] . After that, the plant worked intensively as part of the USSR atomic program . The company has become one of the key enterprises of the new industry; it was tasked with producing reactor fuel in the form of uranium metal. Z. V. Ershova, head of the radium laboratory of the Giredmet Institute [12], was responsible for mastering the technology.
For the new activity it was required to equip the plant with new equipment. Acquisition of the plant with vacuum high-frequency electric furnaces for smelting uranium ore became one of the most important state tasks, it was entrusted to the commission consisting of [13] :
- Member of the State Defense Committee A.I. Mikoyan ;
- Chairman of the USSR State Planning Committee N. A. Voznesensky ;
- People's Commissar of the Electrical Industry of the USSR IG Kabanov ;

- Deputy Commissar of Internal Affairs A. P. Zavenyagin
- Deputy Chairman of the USSR State Planning Committee N. A. Borisov .
Plant No. 12 received all the enriched uranium ore for remelting into fuel cells for reactors. In 1954 he was awarded the second Order of Lenin.
In 1954, he began production of nuclear fuel for nuclear power reactors (fuel elements (fuel rods) and fuel assemblies (fuel assemblies)) [14] , the first assemblies for the Obninsk nuclear power plant [9] .
In 1959 he produced nuclear fuel for the world's first atomic icebreaker "Lenin" . S. I. Zolotuha became the director of the plant number 12.
In 1965, he began mass production of fuel elements (abbreviated: fuel rods) and fuel assemblies (abbreviated: TVS) for nuclear power plants and has since produced all types of fuel assemblies [9] .
In 1982, at the plant for the first time in world practice, an automated line for the production of fuel elements was commissioned, for which the company’s staff was awarded the USSR State Prize .

In 2014, the "MRZ" collected the world's first fuel element (fuel elements) for a space power plant [19] [20] [21] . The first fuel elements for a new generation icebreaker under construction LK-60 project “Arctic” were also manufactured; Acceptance tests of the Rapira-K installation were successfully conducted.
In 2015, the upgraded BN-800 fuel assemblies for the Beloyarsk NPP were manufactured and delivered to the consumer. The plant has fully mastered the production of PEL and OR CPS for all types of nuclear power plants.
